Yard Work

Yard work is the word of the hour.
With the nice weather, Whit and I have been going full tilt on the yard and garden projects. Hopefully soon I can upload some images of the things we've been up to, but for now here's a shot Whit took of me last weekend. She said when I started snoring she just had to take a picture. In my defence, this was after I had unloaded two trailer loads of compost by hand!

Take care and have fun!

Spring Time!

A few pictures from this spring:

I finished mounting Whit's buck from last fall.

I am pleased with how it turned out, and am glad to have a lasting tribute to her first buck.

Whitney and I planting fruit trees in our back yard.

We added a McIntosh apple and Wenatchee apricot to our small orchard.
---

Whitney has her garden started, here are the seedlings under grow lights in the house.

These are some of the starts soon after they first popped up.
Its really fun watching the plants develop, and knowing soon they will be in the garden.
---

One recent morning, Whitney surprised me with aebleskivers!

Thanks to the Arneson's for this wonderful cast iron aebleskiver pan.
----

Here Whitney shows off our new blue-stained pine bar.

We found this at a local craftsmen shop, and loved it.
It was built with beetle killed pine, felled and milled here in Plains.

That's enough for now. Hope everybody is well and happy out there.

Take care and stay in touch! KJ

Late Winter

Hi Everybody!
Here are a few shots of how Whitney and I have been spending our late winter.

I've had a great time riding my mare since this winter has been so mild.
Here she is on a recent Saturday with Mt Baldy in the background.

The dogs and I go to the field often setting up projects for the coming year.

Rosco takes a quick nap while I work.

The dogs take a break by Whitney Creek, Thompson River country.

While she was laid off Whitney stayed busy with quilting projects. This is a Double Wedding Ring, known as one of the hardest patterns to attempt.
Thats all for now... KJ
